Career And Higher Studies Opportunities In Chemical Engineering

A Chemical Engineer are entrusted to develop reactions, a variety of synthesis pathways for newer products, novel product separation techniques, efficient energy utilization studies, preparation, and analysis of catalysts, enzymes, waste reduction processes, and many more tasks in the research laboratories.

Chemical Engineering is one such profession that beckons many aspirants to one of the highly paid professions with plenty of opportunities in India and abroad. Chemical Engineering is the science that is concerned with the conversion of raw materials into a range of valuable finished products using principles of physics, chemistry, and mathematics.

Chemical Engineers along with their counterparts from other engineering disciplines work together to plan, design, build, test, operate and troubleshoot mammoth petroleum refineries, complex petrochemical and chemical plants where important commodities such as gasoline, diesel, kerosene, cooking gas, aviation fuel, tar, methane, olefins, aromatics, acids, salts, and many more are manufactured. The prominent inter-disciplinary industries demanding skills of Chemical Engineers comprise environmental, non-conventional energy, bio-chemical, bio-medical, automotive, aerospace, explosives, nuclear energy, nuclear reprocessing, etc.

These industries call for the expertise of Chemical Engineers to contribute to developing and improving products. From the manufacture of ultra-fast, computer microchips to development in process stream recycle and subsequent reuse of products, treatment of chronic diseases, making wastewater potable, harnessing non-conventional energy technologies and products chemical engineers developed to make this world better place.

The role of Chemical Engineers is essentially to design these processes, maintaining safe and efficient operation of these plants & machinery, and improve upon them while following environment-friendly, safe and ethical practices. Chemical engineers are thus often termed as ‘Universal Engineers’ owing to their versatile scientific and technical prudence.A Chemical Engineer are entrusted to develop reactions, a variety of synthesis pathways for newer products, novel product separation techniques, efficient energy utilization studies, preparation, and analysis of catalysts, enzymes, waste reduction processes, and many more tasks in the research laboratories.

Chemical engineering is one of the most rewarding branches of engineering. It opens opportunities for chemical engineers in both private as well as government sector. There is a long list naming the openings, read about it in this blog by AISSMS College of Engineering, one of the best engineering college in Pune Career And Higher Studies Opportunities In Chemical Engineering

Production Sandwich Engineering is a unique branch of engineering with a balanced approach towards the basic branch of Mechanical Engineering and Management Science. The department teaches State of the art Technical Education to groom students for today’s dynamic environment. Efforts are taken to impart the ability in the students to Think, Analyse, Express & Create with Technology. The overall growth of students is enhanced through various activities and Industry Institute Interaction. Graduating students are equipped with attributes for Entrepreneurship, Employability, and pursuing Higher Studies.

It deals with Engineering Materials, Machining Science, Welding, Forming, Casting, CAD/CAM/CIM, Tool Design, Process Engineering & Tooling, Robotics & Mechatronics, Operations Research, Economics, Finance, Accounting, Costing, Entrepreneurship Development & Modern practices like TQM, BPR, Concurrent Engineering, Lean Manufacturing, JIT, TPM, SCM, etc.

Generally, All the students of this branch undergo compulsory training of one full year, fifth and eighth semester, in reputed organizations of Pune, Mumbai, Nasik, Aurangabad, and of other states as well. Naming a few of them - Tata Motors, Thermax, Forbes Marshall, Godrej & Boyce. During this sandwich pattern, training students work with various departments of an organization such as design & development, manufacturing, quality control, maintenance, tool room, supply chain management, purchase, etc.

All India Shri Shivaji Memorial Society’s College of Engineering started the program in Production Engineering with Sandwich pattern well back in 1994, being first in the state offering a unique blend of academic excellence inside the institute’s four walls along with practical in-hand exposure at a manufacturing industry in & around Pune.

Candidates having a creative and innovative mind, sound technical knowledge, apt analytical skills, & processing excellent leadership qualities will probably find Production Engineering as an exciting yet rewarding career.

Artificial Intelligence And It’s Impacts On Industry 4.0 and Healthcare

Artificial Intelligence changed our life because this technology is used in a wide area of day to day services. It is used to develop machine slaves for speeding up our work by fastening accurate result by reducing human effort. Artificial Intelligence systems provide businesses with a wide range of benefits, including personalized marketing, customer service, operational automation, inventory management and recruitment. Artificial Intelligence used to handle numerous activities in the bank. It handles work like financial operations, Money investing in stocks, Managing different properties and much more. In medical science, Artificial Intelligence is used to create virtual personal health care assistant. They are used for research and analytics.

Even healthcare bots are also introduced to give customer support. Bots are used for scheduling an appointment in hospitals. Artificial Intelligent based Chat bots can interact with unlimited customers at the same time and can both respond and initiate communication. Artificial Intelligence also can be used for Real-time Assistance. Take an example of bus companies. They already tracking the location of their buses and provide travelers with real-time updates about where the bus is along its route and its estimated time of arrival.

Business using Artificial Intelligence can help to review about jobless ratio, Philips Curve, performance, management, CRM Analytics, customer relationship management, sales, strategic planning, mass production, Purchasing Power Parity, GDP, inflation, money, Central Banks, Banking System, coaching, training, accounting, taxes etc.

Industry 4.0 and Artificial Intelligence :-
Four stages of Industrial Revolution as,

  1. First Industrial Revolution - At the end of the 18th century which was mechanical production on the basis of water and steam.
  2. Second Industrial Revolution -  At the beginning of the 20th century happens during the introduction of conveyor belts and mass production.
  3. Third Industrial Revolution - In the field of digital automation of production by means of electronics and information technology system.
  4. Fourth Industrial Revolution - Today, the industrial landscape is again being transformed to the fourth stage with the rise of autonomous robots, contemporary automation, cyber-physical systems, the internet of things, the internet of services, and so on.

Industrial robots, which are one of the key drivers in Industry 4.0, have evolved considerably since the last decades of the 20th century. According to U.S. "industry 4.0" like the Internet of Everything. Industry 4.0 is nomenclature like “Smart Production”, “Smart Manufacturing”, “Smart Industry” or “Smart Factory” are used in Europe.

Production Engineering | AISSMS COE

Based on several observations, we have come to conclude that there are many parents who hesitate to admit their children into the designated branch of Production Engineering to make it as their professional career. The reasons which mostly dominate their decision are either some reservations about the domain or insufficient knowledge about it. This article is an attempt to throw light on the lingering questions such as ‘What is Production Engineering branch, what do students learn during this course?

Mechanical Engineering branch has three major streams viz. Thermal, Design Science and Manufacturing technology (termed as Production Technology). After graduation, if you are interested to work in an industry, Production Engineering definitely has a huge scope, as most of the engineers are needed on the shop floor than R&D.
